Casa Mono
In this eye-catching decor (by Lázaro Rosa Violán, one of the country’s most prestigious interior designers), the restaurant offers crafted meals both for lunch and dinner in its beautiful space. At just a stone’s throw from calle Princesa, it gives a lively and upbeat atmosphere.
The starter menu includes Spanish flavors like goat’s cheese and pork loin croquettes, fresh vegetable soups with croutons, salmorejo (Spanish tomato and garlic cold soup) or huevos rotos (scrambled eggs), as well as more exotic flavours such as vegetable tempura or different pasta dishes. There are also meat dishes such as stewed beef cheeks, curried free range chicken with basmati rice, pork loin fillet for two, or glazed or teppanyaki fish brochette. The food is beautifully complemented by any one of the more than 30 different wines or why not finish your meal with a home-made dessert (brownies, lemon cake, rice pudding…). From Monday to Friday there is also a “menú del día” at about 12 euros.
Casa Mono is a real “all-in-one” bar located right in the center of the Argüelles district with a cafe, restaurant, cocktail bar and terrace spread over different floors, so why not make the most of it and round your meal off with a cocktail?
