WorldPride Madrid 2017 & EuroPride Madrid 2017 are confirmed from June 23rd to July 2nd, 2017. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender of the world, are you ready to be part of the history?

WorldPride Madrid 2017 is a 10-day celebration that includes an amazing Pride parade, hundreds of parties, an international human rights conference and an international culture festival.

At the same time, Madrid will host EuroPride 2017.

3 million international LGTB visitors to Madrid from June 23rd to July 2nd, 2017.

Yet 10 years ago…

Do you remember 2007? Madrid hosted Europride 2007. It was the most successful pride ever, with an estimated 2.5 million visitors. This huge attendance was not only a success for Madrid, but for the whole LGBT Spanish community, thanks to the celebration of the change of terms in the laws to legalize same-sex marriage and same-sex adoptions.

Since then, Madrid emerged as a leader for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer (LGBTQ) tourism, and its Pride events are some of the most well-attended in the world.

Come and celebrate with us what is going to be the biggest and largest Pride celebration ever organized ever organized, in the royal capital of Spain where the sun shines all days, where people are enjoying terraces for tapas, where shops are opened 7 days a week till late, where museums and exhibitions are world-class, where citizens are open minded, peaceful and welcoming.

Madrid enjoys a well-earned reputation as a welcoming destination that embraces diversity, and the city’s annual Madrid Pride has become a truly must-see event on the global LGBT tourism calendar, suported by stars like Kylie Minogue or Ricky Martin.

Next June 2017, Madrid will mark the 40th anniversary of its first Pride parade in the Chueca neighborhood. It’s going to be impressive. If we have a look at the past WorldPride events, this is obvious that Madrid will set an unprecedented standard!

The first ever event of the World Pride was in Rome, followed by Jerusalem, London & Toronto.

WorldPride Rome 2000

250,000 people joined in the march to the Colosseum and the Circus Maximus, two of Rome’s most famous ancient sites. It was one of the biggest crowds to gather in Rome for decades. Among the scheduled events were conferences, a fashion show, a large parade, a leather dance, and a concert featuring Gloria Gaynor, The Village People, RuPaul and Geri Halliwell.

WorldPride Jerusalem 2006

Unfortunately canceled… Jerusalem’s government canceled the parade, saying there were not enough soldiers to protect marchers. A week of events took place as scheduled and included five conferences, a film festival, exhibitions, and literary and political events. For the last years Israel / Tel-Aviv Gay Pride is becoming more and more popular; sure some of you have been there yet.

WorldPride London 2012

It was supposed to be good… It sounded like a good idea at the time: with the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee, this would be another great opportunity to showcase London on the world stage and a fitting way to mark the 40th anniversary of the first Pride march in London. But very few people participated because the event has run into financial problems and the city of London wasn’t really into making it big.

WorldPride Toronto 2014

Over 12,000 people registered to march in the WorldPride parade and over 280 floats took part in the march. The parade lasted over five hours, marking it as one of the longest parades in Toronto’s history. But still, it remained a “small” pride in the history of the World.

WorldPride Madrid 2017

Here we are! Yet Madrid is world famous for its «regular» Gay Pride, welcoming over 1 million of LGBT each year during 7 days of events & parties.
In 2016, Madrid’s parliament building and city hall were yet festooned in rainbow colors to mark the event.

All the Spanish country is associated to the success of Madrid World Pride 2017, with famous gay places like Sitges, Ibiza, Torremolinos, Barcelona, Sevilla or Valencia involved in the success of WorldPride Madrid 2017.

Huge advertising campaigns are planned all across the world starting now, to tease this unprecedented lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender meeting capital.

Madrid has been also nominated to host the EuroPride 2017. So be prepared, do not miss it, it’s going to be a landmark for any gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender of the world.
