{"id":13633,"date":"2016-10-11T08:03:59","date_gmt":"2016-10-11T06:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gomadridpride.com\/listings\/templo-de-debod\/"},"modified":"2022-09-29T16:17:57","modified_gmt":"2022-09-29T14:17:57","slug":"templo-de-debod","status":"publish","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/www.gomadridpride.com\/en\/listings\/templo-de-debod\/","title":{"rendered":"Templo de Debod"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, there is an <strong>Egyptian temple in downtown Madrid!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The temple was donated to Spain in 1968 by the Egyptian government to save it from floods following the construction of the great Aswan Dam.<\/p>\n<p>Dating back to the 2nd century BC, this temple was dedicated to the god Amon of Thebes, about 20km south of Philae in the Nubian desert of southern Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>According to some authors of myth and legend, the goddess Isis gave birth to Horus in this temple.<\/p>\n<p>Located 2 minutes from <strong>Plaza de\u00a0Espa\u00f1a<\/strong>, inside the &#8220;Parque del Oeste de Madrid&#8221;, it\u2019s definitely worth a visit.<\/p>\n<p>The views from the surrounding gardens towards the Palacio Real and the west suburbs are awesome, you\u2019ll shoot wonderful picture.\u00a0It was opened to the public in 1972.
